The main idea of the present research is the analysis of the most important problems coming across during the construction of the commercial airports in conjunction with their impact on the country's economy and growth. Furthermore, we analyze the legislation of the Environmental Impact Study on a European and a national basis, and we continue our research talking about the air pollution caused by the airports. We offer further information as it concerns the noise that occurs and we enlist it as the most important environmental problem. Finally, we register the findings of our research and we come to the conclusion that the development of the airports and the proper operation of them, are both inevitable. The only thing we can do is that we take into account our environment and its habitants.
