ABSTRACT
The aim of this research is to illustrate the actions of the Department of Tourism of the Municipality of Thessaloniki in order to draw useful conclusions, which will be part of the Tourism strategic planning of Thessaloniki implemented by the School of Economics & Management of IHU.
In this context will be recorded all the actions of the Municipality of Thessaloniki from 2011 -2019, the missions of the City's Diplomacy from 2013-2019, statistical data related to visitors from information centers from 2014-2019, statistical data of the civil weddings held from 2012-2019 in the Municipality of Thessaloniki , accommodation data of the Region of Central Macedonia and the ''Thessbrunch action'' of the Thessaloniki Hoteliers Association.
The conclusion of the research includes personal proposals with regard to the Local Government and its relative contribution for the promotion of the city.

| Abstract: | Στόχος της συγκεκριμένης έρευνας είναι η μελέτη των δράσεων του Τμήματος Τουρισμού του Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης ώστε να εξαχθούν χρήσιμα συμπεράσματα, τα οποία θα αποτελέσουν μέρος του στρατηγικού σχεδιασμού της Θεσσαλονίκης που υλοποιείται με πρωτοβουλία της Σχολής Οικονομίας & Διοίκησης του ΔΙΠΑΕ.
Σε αυτό το πλαίσιο καταγράφονται οι δράσεις του Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης από το 2011-2019, οι αποστολές της «Διπλωματίας Πόλεων» από το 2013-2019, τα στατιστικά στοιχεία των κέντρων πληροφόρησης επισκεπτών από το 2014-2019, τα στατιστικά στοιχεία των πολιτικών γάμων 2012-2019 του Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης, τα καταλύματα της Περιφέρειας Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας και η δράση «Thess brunch» της Ένωσης Ξενοδόχων Θεσσαλονίκης.
Ο επίλογος της έρευνας, περιλαμβάνει προσωπικές προτάσεις για την συμβολή της Τοπικής Αυτοδιοιήκησης στην τουριστική προβολή της πόλης.
