The present diploma thesis focuses on the exploitation of the Information System ‘Myschool’ from now on ‘Myschool’ in the contemporary management of education and the exploitation of information, both, at the level of central administration, Ministry of Education, and at the decentralized level that is, at the level of regional education management, secondary education and school unit management. The modern concept of computing and the exploitation of new technologies in the organization of Organizations is largely related to the organization's objectives, qualitative and quantitative, as well as to the evaluation of the organization's management In particular extensive reference is made to the information system ‘Myschool’ and the need to use information and communication technologies, training management, decisionmaking and full-time real-time management of human resources, teaching staff, school units and exercise of responsibilities by the Ministry of Education. The research was conducted in Viotia region and its purpose was to investigate the usefulness and effectiveness of the information system Myschool in management, the facilities it provides in the organization and planning of education, in the communication between the hierarchical levels of education administration and decision making, with the aim of achieving the institutional and operational objectives of education. This thesis consists of seven modules. The first four modules are the theoretical framework on which the research is based and concepts such as “administration”, “efficiency” and “effectiveness”, “New Public Management”, Management By Objectives”. Also, the possibilities offered by the information system “Myschool” at the school unit level were also analyzed, as the research was conducted on fifty-three regional school units
