This paper analyses the image of librarians in the 7th art, which is cinema. Cinema plays a significant role in creating the need for people to belong in a social environment. Throughout the years, librarians have changed and evolved to adapt to the technological advancements within the library. The stereotypes and images of librarians are a topic of study that has been a concern for researchers and librarians for years. Through specific films and some examples from television series, the purpose of this paper is to highlight these stereotypes in film, the image that has prevailed over the years and whether there is the potential for these images to change in the future.
