Nowadays, significant changes are taking place in the social and economic context of European countries due to the economic crisis, making necessary the modernization of the organization and management of various organizations. For this reason, the modernization of educational systems and their continuous growth is considered necessary for the wider development of each country.
Despite the efforts making to improve the various processes and to take advantage of new technologies, there are still unsolved issues that make it difficult for schools to continue their smoothly work. The school leadership and its role as a team manager is the most responsible for facing and solving the problems by using the various mechanisms and by creating the appropriate work environment.
This research examines the role of the manager in his effort to manage human resources in a way that achieves quality education, understanding that this is a difficult task, due to the economic crisis that Greece is experiencing. In addition, it seeks through the use of the quantitative method and the questionnaire to investigate the perceptions of the school leaders and teachers of the primary education of Magnesia and to interpret and evaluate their views on the consequences of the economic crisis for the school unit.
In conclusion, we understand that the school leader makes efforts to modernize the educational process through the implementation of innovative programs, but due to the economic crisis and due to government rules, it comes to negatively affect the effective implementation of the educational project as it restricts his movements. Its role may be very important for the smooth process of the school community, but it does not seem to be actively contributing to teacher motivation for a better and more effective education full of quality

| Abstract: | Τη σημερινή εποχή παρατηρούνται σημαντικές αλλαγές στο κοινωνικό και οικονομικό πλαίσιο των Ευρωπαϊκών χωρών εξαιτίας της οικονομικής κρίσης, θέτοντας αναγκαίο τον εκσυγχρονισμό του τρόπου οργάνωσης και διοίκησης διαφόρων οργανισμών. Για το λόγο αυτό, ο εκσυγχρονισμός των εκπαιδευτικών συστημάτων και η συνεχής αναβάθμισή τους κρίνεται απαραίτητη, για την ευρύτερη εξέλιξη της κάθε χώρας.
Παρά την προσπάθεια που γίνεται για τη βελτίωση των διαφόρων διαδικασιών και για την αξιοποίηση των νέων τεχνολογιών, εξακολουθούν να υπάρχουν δυσκολίες που δυσχεραίνουν την ομαλή λειτουργία των σχολικών μονάδων. Η σχολική ηγεσία και ο ρόλος της ως διαχειριστή της ομάδας, είναι η πλέον αρμόδια για την αντιμετώπιση των προβλημάτων μέσα από την αξιοποίηση των διαφόρων μηχανισμών και τη δημιουργία του κατάλληλου εργασιακού περιβάλλοντος.
Η συγκεκριμένη έρευνα, μελετά το ρόλο του διευθυντή στην προσπάθειά του να διαχειριστεί το ανθρώπινο δυναμικό με τρόπο που να επιτυγχάνεται η ποιοτική εκπαίδευση, κατανοώντας πως πρόκειται για ένα δύσκολο έργο, εξαιτίας της οικονομικής ύφεσης που βιώνει ο ελλαδικός χώρος. Επιπλέον, επιδιώκει μέσα από τη χρήση της ποσοτικής μεθόδου και του ερωτηματολογίου να διερευνήσει τις αντιλήψεις των διευθυντών και εκπαιδευτικών της πρωτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης του νομού Μαγνησίας και να ερμηνεύσει και να αξιολογήσει τις απόψεις τους σχετικά με τις συνέπειες της οικονομικής κρίσης για τη σχολική μονάδα.
Συμπεραίνοντας λοιπόν, διαπιστώνουμε πως ο διευθυντής καταβάλει προσπάθειες εκσυγχρονισμού της εκπαιδευτικής διαδικασίας μέσω της εφαρμογής καινοτόμων προγραμμάτων, όμως η κατάσταση της οικονομικής ύφεσης και ο κρατικός μηχανισμός έρχεται να επηρεάσει αρνητικά την αποτελεσματική υλοποίηση του εκπαιδευτικού έργου καθώς περιορίζει τις κινήσεις του. Μπορεί ο ρόλος του να είναι πολύ σημαντικός για την ομαλή λειτουργία της σχολικής κοινότητας, όμως φαίνεται πως δε συμβάλλει ενεργά στην παρακίνηση των εκπαιδευτικών για μια πιο ποιοτική και αποτελεσματική εκπαίδευση.
