Nowadays, significant changes are taking place in the social and economic context of European countries due to the economic crisis, making necessary the modernization of the organization and management of various organizations. For this reason, the modernization of educational systems and their continuous growth is considered necessary for the wider development of each country. Despite the efforts making to improve the various processes and to take advantage of new technologies, there are still unsolved issues that make it difficult for schools to continue their smoothly work. The school leadership and its role as a team manager is the most responsible for facing and solving the problems by using the various mechanisms and by creating the appropriate work environment. This research examines the role of the manager in his effort to manage human resources in a way that achieves quality education, understanding that this is a difficult task, due to the economic crisis that Greece is experiencing. In addition, it seeks through the use of the quantitative method and the questionnaire to investigate the perceptions of the school leaders and teachers of the primary education of Magnesia and to interpret and evaluate their views on the consequences of the economic crisis for the school unit. In conclusion, we understand that the school leader makes efforts to modernize the educational process through the implementation of innovative programs, but due to the economic crisis and due to government rules, it comes to negatively affect the effective implementation of the educational project as it restricts his movements. Its role may be very important for the smooth process of the school community, but it does not seem to be actively contributing to teacher motivation for a better and more effective education full of quality
