The exploration of job satisfaction seems to be of great interest to scholars around the world, as it has been a constant topic of research in recent decades.The purpose of this study is to compare the job satisfaction levels by the management in health and welfare units between social workers and psychologists, putting two research the exploration of participants’ views about the satisfaction by their work and the effect of demographic profile in participants’ satisfaction from the working conditions. The study involved 80 social workers and psychologists and 70 supervisors / chiefs in health and welfare units. The survey was conducted in the months of October - November 2019. The questionnaire by P.E .Spector “Job Satisfaction Survey” (JSS), which measures the job satisfaction, was used for the purposes of the study. Results: The results of the survey showed no significant differences in the participants' views of their satisfaction by their employment. A notable difference was observed in investigating the interaction between the demographic profile of supervisors/chiefs and that of social workers and psychologists, with the variables of promotion (p=0,001) and supervision in the work context (p=0,020). Also, participants with greater overall work experience appeared to be more satisfied with promotion (p=0,039) and less with salary (p=0,023), while non-permanent or part-time workers expressed greater satisfaction with their salaries than permanent workers (p=0,018). In contrast, permanent workers were more satisfied with their possible promotion than non-permanent or temporary workers (p=0,007). Finally, psychologists appeared to be more satisfied with the privileges and benefits of their work than social workers are (p=0,002). The study proves the significance of the role of job satisfaction and at the same time can be the trigger for further investigation of both the issue of job satisfaction itself, and the methods that can make it a constant in every working environment as well.
