In the last decades the rise of using social media in studying is the main priority in modern educational models. This rise often interlocks with using social media with success in order to communicate in the school unit. The teachers have the most important role for introducing showing the best way of using the social media in the educational process. The present work attempts through the study of international and domestic literature, to record in what ways social media influences communication in primary schools and how they contribute to the development of the learning process. The results of the literature review showed that through the use of social media is possible to improve the educational process and communication between school members. The aim of the research is to investigate the point in which the implementation and use of social media as an educational tool, helps in the development of organizational communication. The conclusions were based on the teacher’s opinions who are working in primary schools in the region of central Macedonia. Quantitative data were collected through a sample survey for which a questionnaire was constructed. Data collection lasted from February 2020 to April 2020. Their responses were recorded in SPSS for further analysis. In conclusion, the research showed that teachers are positive in using social media, while the concern they have is due to their lack of training on social media, which is the main obstacle to their use. Teachers are also positive about the use of social media to increase the level of communication and to use it in the near future by themselves to improve the learning process.
