This paper "Shear strength of rock discontinuities injected with epoxy resin and concrete mixtures" aims to provide knowledge required in the field of rock reinforcement. The usual intended technical purpose of adding grout to a rock mass is to reduce its water permeability and/or improve its mechanical behavior. Taking into account the conclusions of the literature review on the subject, which are given in the following chapters, the objectives of this study are to experimentally quantify the changes in the shear strength of the rock mass - discontinuities with different water-resin mixing ratios for grout preparation and with the curing time, in order to evaluate their contributions and their overall behavior. To develop strength relationships for both the grout and the rock mass under loading conditions, and finally to use the properties of the components in the model formulation to predict the response of the grouted rock mass. It is derived from the experimental investigation on the physical and dynamic properties of chemically injected rock mass with water-soluble epoxy resin and the theoretical information of the individual materials used, namely the resin and betonite. The main purpose could therefore be said to be the detailed investigation of the fracture mechanism during loss of aggregate cohesion between grout and wall discontinuities. The content is divided into 4 chapters, each with its own specificity. Chapter 1 "Introduction" presents theoretical information on rock mechanics. An introduction to the properties of unconformities and rock masses and their cleavage by the injection technique. Chapter 2 "Literature Review" states all the theoretical information on the class of resins, and particularly epoxy resin, including the chemistry of resins, their general characteristics. Chapter 3 "Methods and Materials" consists of the experimental procedure. The materials used to perform the experiments, the method followed to carry out these experiments and information on the concrete used in two of the three test specimen production cycles is given. Chapter 4 "Results and Discussion" presents the results of the tests in which the specimens were stressed. Detailed tables and charts from each test are included. The experimental procedure and its results are also analysed through tables and diagrams and conclusions based on these results are also drawn.
