The journal "Folklore: Bulletin of the Hellenic Folklore Society" is an official scientific journal of the Hellenic Folklore Society. The journal was published for the first time in 1909 and to date has 43 volumes. The volumes of the magazine are available on the shelves of the Thessaloniki Municipal Library in the magazine section.
The content of the journal is divided into 6 categories. In the "studies" category of the journal, where folkloric articles are presented, both the theoretical and methodological evolution of the science and the renewal of its thematic axes due to the interdisciplinary synergy with the neighboring sciences become apparent.
Research was carried out regarding the history, services, departments and collection of the Municipal Library of Thessaloniki. This was followed by research on the processing systems of the material, more specifically basic information is presented on Cataloging, Subject Indexing, MARC and Koha, which were the basic tools for registering the bibliographic records of the journal articles in the online catalog of the library. This research was carried out in order to better understand the importance and usefulness of the specific systems, to make decisions about the appropriate fields that must be completed in each article so as to add complete records that will be directly linked to the bibliographic record of the journal that exists already in the online catalog of the library as well as to follow an understandable explanation of the procedure followed in the theoretical part of the work.
This thesis is divided into two main parts, the theoretical part which concerns important information about the Municipal Library, the Hellenic Folklore Society, the journal "Folklore: Bulletin of the Hellenic Folklore Society", the conceptual approach to material processing systems and the practical part which presents all bibliographic records in MARC format which have been added to the library's online catalog as part of the work and the analysis of the fields filled in the bibliographic entries.

| Abstract: | Το περιοδικό «Λαογραφία: Δελτίον της Ελληνικής Λαογραφικής Εταιρείας» αποτελεί επίσημο επιστημονικό περιοδικό της Ελληνικής Λαογραφικής Εταιρείας. Το περιοδικό εκδόθηκε για πρώτη φορά το 1909 και μέχρι σήμερα αριθμεί 43 τόμους. Οι τόμοι του περιοδικού είναι διαθέσιμοι στα ράφια της Δημοτικής Βιβλιοθήκης Θεσσαλονίκης στο τμήμα περιοδικών.
Το περιεχόμενο του περιοδικού χωρίζεται σε 6 θεαματικές κατηγορίες. Στην κατηγορία «μελετήματα» του περιοδικού, όπου παρουσιάζονται λαογραφικά άρθρα, γίνεται φανερή τόσο η θεωρητική και η μεθοδολογική εξέλιξη της επιστήμης όσο και η ανανέωση των θεματολογικών αξόνων της λόγω και της διεπιστημονικής συνεργίας με τις όμορες επιστήμες.
Πραγματοποιήθηκε έρευνα σχετικά με την ιστορία, τις υπηρεσίες, τα τμήματα και την συλλογή της Δημοτική Βιβλιοθήκη Θεσσαλονίκης. Ακολούθησε έρευνα σχετικά με τα συστήματα επεξεργασίας του υλικού, πιο συγκεκριμένα παρουσιάζονται βασικές πληροφορίες για την Καταλογογράφηση την Θεματική Ευρετηρίαση, το MARC και το Koha, τα οποία αποτέλεσαν τα βασικά εργαλεία για την καταχώρηση των βιβλιογραφικών εγγραφών των άρθρων του περιοδικού στον online κατάλογο της βιβλιοθήκης. Η έρευνα αυτή πραγματοποιήθηκε προκειμένου να κατανοηθεί καλύτερα η σημασία και χρησιμότητα των συγκεκριμένων συστημάτων, να ληφθούν αποφάσεις σχετικά με τα κατάλληλα πεδία που πρέπει να συμπληρωθούν σε κάθε άρθρο έτσι ώστε να προστεθούν ολοκληρωμένες εγγραφές οι οποίες θα συνδέονται άμεσα με την βιβλιογραφική εγγραφή του περιοδικού που υπάρχει ήδη στον online κατάλογο της βιβλιοθήκης καθώς και να ακολουθήσει μια κατανοητή επεξήγηση της διαδικασίας που ακολουθήθηκε στο θεωρητικό κομμάτι της εργασίας.
Η συγκεκριμένη πτυχιακή εργασία χωρίζεται σε δύο βασικά μέρη, το θεωρητικό μέρος το οποίο αφορά σημαντικές πληροφορίες σχετικά με την Δημοτική Βιβλιοθήκη, την Ελληνική Λαογραφική Εταιρεία, το περιοδικό «Λαογραφία: Δελτίον της Ελληνικής Λαογραφικής Εταιρείας», την εννοιολογική προσέγγιση συστημάτων που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν για την επεξεργασία του υλικού και το πρακτικό μέρος στο οποίο παρουσιάζονται όλες οι βιβλιογραφικές εγγραφές σε μορφή MARC οι οποίες έχουν προστεθεί στον online κατάλογο της βιβλιοθήκης στα πλαίσια της εργασίας και η ανάλυση των πεδίων που συμπληρώθηκαν στις βιβλιογραφικές εγγραφές.
