Αρωματικά και φαρμακευτικά φυτά στο αστικό τοπίο (Master thesis)

The existence and the creation of green spaces within the urban fabric is an important advantage against the negative effects of intense urbanization observed in recent years. Urban green spaces can serve a multitude of benefits for people and the environment, and even more so when these green spaces can be turned into environmental education parks. Environmental education parks aim to connect people with the natural environment. With this in mind, in this thesis research is carried out in the Ampelokipi area of Drama, an area on the edge of urban sprawl, with the aim of creating a design proposal for an educational environmental park. For this reason, characteristics of the natural environment of the area were taken into account, while the selection of plants was based on two criteria: plants that decorate the area having aesthetic value and plants that are the educational material of the area. The plant material chosen is mainly evergreen. shrubs and herbaceous plants that grow in the area of Drama and show resistance to climatic conditions but also deciduous mainly to create photo-shading in the park during the summer months. The creation of an environmental education park, in addition to the multiple benefits from an environmental and social point of view, also has a pure educational character for organized or non-organized actions, hosts flexible spaces and can be an important step in connecting the landscape in question with the surrounding environment area and the prominence of the city itself due to the uniqueness of the created landscape.

| Abstract: | Η ύπαρξη και η δημιουργία χώρων πράσινου εντός του αστικού ιστού αποτελεί σημαντικό πλεονέκτημα έναντι των αρνητικών επιδράσεων της έντονης αστικοποίησης που παρατηρείται τα τελευταία χρόνια. Οι αστικοί χώροι πρασίνου μπορούν να εξυπηρετήσουν πληθώρα πλεονεκτημάτων για τον άνθρωπο και το περιβάλλον, και ακόμη περισσότερο όταν αυτοί οι πράσινοι χώροι μπορούν να μετατραπούν σε πάρκα περιβαλλοντικής εκπαίδευσης. Τα πάρκα περιβαλλοντικής εκπαίδευσης έχουν ως στόχο τη σύνδεση των ανθρώπων με το φυσικό περιβάλλον. Με αφορμή αυτό, στην παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία πραγματοποιείται έρευνα στην περιοχή Αμπελοκήπων Δράμας, μια περιοχή στα όρια της αστικής διάχυσης, με σκοπό τη δημιουργία σχεδιαστικής πρότασης εκπαιδευτικού περιβαλλοντικού πάρκου. Για τον λόγο αυτό λήφθηκαν υπόψη χαρακτηριστικά του φυσικού περιβάλλοντος της περιοχής, ενώ η επιλογή των φυτών έγινε με βάση δύο κριτήρια: φυτά που διακοσμούν το χώρο έχοντας αισθητική αξία και φυτά που αποτελούν το εκπαιδευτικό υλικό του χώρου. Το φυτικό υλικό που επιλέχθηκε είναι κυρίως αειθαλή θάμνοι και ποώδη φυτά που φύονται στην περιοχή της Δράμας και παρουσιάζουν ανθεκτικότητα στις κλιματολογικές συνθήκες αλλά και φυλλοβόλα κυρίως για την δημιουργία φωτοσκίασης στο πάρκο κατά τους καλοκαιρινούς μήνες. Η δημιουργία ενός πάρκου περιβαλλοντικής εκπαίδευσης εκτός από τα πολλαπλά οφέλη από περιβαλλοντικής και κοινωνικής άποψης, έχει και καθαρό εκπαιδευτικό χαρακτήρα για οργανωμένες ή μη δράσεις, φιλοξενεί ευέλικτους χώρους και μπορεί να αποτελέσει ένα σημαντικό βήμα για τη σύνδεση του εν λόγω τοπίου με το περιβάλλον της γύρω περιοχής και την ανάδειξη της ίδιας της πόλης λόγω της μοναδικότητας του δημιουργούμενου τοπίου.
