In broiler breeding, males and females are fattened equally. During rearing, which can last up to day 28 or even 42, depending on the condition of the feathers, they need a lot of warmth. This means that the barn needs to be heated during this period. In organic farming, two methods are used for rearing and fattening. In the one-stall process, animals are kept in the same barn from day one until they are removed.
