In broiler breeding, males and females are fattened equally. During rearing, which can last up to day 28 or even 42, depending on the condition of the feathers, they need a lot of warmth. This means that the barn needs to be heated during this period. In organic farming, two methods are used for rearing and fattening. | Abstract: | Στην εκτροφή Γαλόπουλων κρεατοπαραγωγής, τα αρσενικά και τα θηλυκά ζώα παχύνονται εξίσου. Κατά την εκτροφή, η οποία μπορεί να διαρκέσει μέχρι την 28η ημέρα ή και την 42η, ανάλογα με την κατάσταση των φτερών, χρειάζονται πολλή ζεστασιά. Αυτό σημαίνει ότι ο αχυρώνας πρέπει να θερμανθεί κατά τη διάρκεια αυτής της περιόδου. Στη βιολογική γεωργία χρησιμοποιούνται δύο μέθοδοι για εκτροφή και πάχυνση. Στη διαδικασία του one-stall, τα ζώα διατηρούνται στον ίδιο στάβλο από την πρώτη μέρα μέχρι να απομακρυνθούν. Στη διαδικασία των δύο στάβλων, οι νεοσσοί διατηρούνται στο στάβλο εκτροφής μέχρι την ηλικία των 28 ή το πολύ 42 ημερών και στη συνέχεια μεταφέρονται στο στασίδι πάχυνσης.
