Η μέθοδος της ενσίρωσης ζωοτροφών (Bachelor thesis)

Τσούλου, Ανδρονίκη

The primary need of a farmer can undoubtedly be defined as the need to meet the nutritional requirements of animals. This is due to the very simple reason for the increase in production, whether milk or meat. All ruminants, when in a state of preservation or production, are subject to nitrogen losses through faeces, urine, skin peeling and excreta (e.g. milk, etc.). Thus, the ruminant organism needs to receive with food a certain amount of nitrogenous substances. The purpose of this dissertation was to try to analyze the silage method of feed (which can be silaged) and their use in the diet of ruminant animals. A very important factor in determining the nutrient of silage is the stage of maturity of the plant during its harvest. The percentage of the impact of the fermentation process on silage and animal performance can be improved through practical management such as, for example, the use of silage additives or otherwise vaccinators or even the use of selected varieties with better silage results. More specifically, chapter 3 analyzes in a very general and simple way what animal nutrition means, which is based on this and the main goal of each farmer. Chapter 3.1 then gives a more detailed explanation of the term 'feed'. The questions are answered, such as, 'when is a feed considered to be of high nutritional value?', 'when can a raw material be considered as feed?' or even 'what are the appropriate quantities of feed to be fed to animals for excellent production results?'. Below in chapters 3.2 and 3.3 the term 'ration' is explained and a general distinction is made between feeding stuffs respectively. In chapter 3.3, with the help of various schemes and a very detailed table, the reader can understand the basis of which any feed distinctions are made. Continuing, in chapter 4. The two most well-known methods of preserving green dispensation are listed. Chapter 4.1 concerns drying as an extremely widespread method of initially processing and finally preserving these greens, which in turn is divided into two methods, natural and artificial. Finally, chapter 4.2 deals entirely with the method of silage where, with the help of photographic material, a table, etc., the reader can understand the importance of this method and its contribution to the agro-livestock community. Chapter 5 consists solely of photographic material from some visits I made to livestock units in the area of Pentalofos, Thessaloniki in order to better understand the subject and enrich my thesis.
