The impact of the economic crisis in the Greek banking system

Abstract

In recent years the global economic system monitors the evolution of an economic crisis of which implications have not yet been determined. This paper focuses on the impact of this crisis on the Greek banking system. Initially, reference is made to the historical background of the crisis and then to the description of the Greek banking system. Even, attempts a factual presentation of the situation of the banking system, in terms of liquidity, the way of borrowing and the amount of deposits in the period of economic crisis.

Τα τελευταία χρόνια το παγκόσμιο οικονομικό σύστημα παρακολουθεί την εξέλιξη μιας οικονομικής κρίσης της οποίας οι προεκτάσεις δεν έχουν ακόμα καθοριστεί. Η παρούσα εργασία εστιάζει στις επιπτώσεις αυτής της κρίσης στο ελληνικό τραπεζικό σύστημα. Αρχικά, γίνεται αναφορά στην ιστορική αναδρομή της κρίσης και στη συνέχεια η περιγραφή του ελληνικού τραπεζικού συστήματος. Ακόμα, επιχειρείται μια τεκμηριωμένη παρουσίαση της κατάστασης του τραπεζικού συστήματος, όσο αναφορά τη ρευστότητα του, τον τρόπο δανεισμού και το ύψος των καταθέσεων την περίοδο οικονομικής κρίσης.
