This dissertation was developed in the framework of the Postgraduate Program of Studies "Organization, Management and Therapeutic Practices of Wellness and Spa centres", of the Department of Aesthetics and Cosmetology, ATEI Sindos. It aims at exploring the value and the prospects for the development of a neglected thermal resource in the region of Thermes, in Xanthi, for the benefit of the society and the professionals of the tourist area. The possibility of the touristic development - utilisation of the hot springs and waters of the area, which have been partially utilised to date in rudimentary bathing facilities and most of them end up unexploited in the bed of the river Kompsatos, is under consideration. The main objective through the thermal springs is the mild utilisation of the area with key actions that will form the foundation stone on which future projects can be developed that will lead to the radical upgrading of the existing bathing facilities for the application of qualitative terms and principles of healing spa therapy, the hospitality and accommodation spaces, the configuration of the external areas, the protection of the natural resources of the hot springs and the tourist and economic development of the area. 5 It also includes the inventory of the possibilities of the baths and the area, the preliminary planning of the development of various forms of health education, mental health and well-being, in relation to the infrastructure, the natural environment and the qualitative and quantitative potential of the natural resource, namely water, of the climate and the landscape. The SWOT analysis was used to draw up the optimal management of natural resources in the region and the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to the region's development were identified. The thermal springs of Thermes in the Municipality of Myki, Xanthi, are connected with history, tradition and are a key element of the economy and the development of the local community. In the immediate environment of the springs, activities have been developed and are still being developed related to spa tourism - thermalism and the emergence of the peculiarity of the natural-geothermal environment, which could be a natural, mild and renewable source of energy in favour of the energy requirements of the thermal facilities and also benefit other local activities such as agro-tourism, ecotourism, cultural tourism, mountain tourism, adventure tourism, but also in general the local economy and ecology. Certainly, in the coming years, thermalism - health tourism will be the subject of intense competition and it is necessary that the Health Spa of the Municipality of Myki proceed with the design and development of an integrated health system (balneotherapy, inhalation therapy, cave therapy, mud therapy, etc.). to be able to meet the challenges of competition.
