Διοίκηση Ολικής Ποιότητας στην εκπαίδευση. Δυνατότητα εφαρμογής στα Ελληνικά εκπαιδευτικά ιδρύματα (Master thesis)

This paper deals with Total Quality Management in Education. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and research part. Initially the theoretical part refers to the concept of Total Quality Management, its historical development and its principles, and the practices of the Human Resources Management. Still reference is made to Total Quality Management in the school department, school leadership, the role of leader in the development of a quality culture and the empowerment of teachers. In the second part of the work, a primary research is being conducted to investigate and record the views of primary school teachers on general management and its implementation in school units, and to highlight and justify the transparency and responses encountered by implementation of the overall quality management in the Greek school. The results that arise relate to the degree of knowledge and understanding of the overall quality management by the teachers, the principles of the overall administration considered compatible with their working culture, the views of the teachers on the application of the overall quality of administration as a way of administration in the field their work, the teachers' attitudes regarding the management of the overall quality and the reactions that are observed around the implementation of the overall administration in the Greek schools. Proposals for future research suggest that there should be long-term educational design through the upgrading of educational structures with the aim of improving the quality of the education provided. In addition, there is a need to develop and adopt common tools to define specific quality indicators. Finally, in order to tackle international competition, there is a need to improve the educational level of teachers in Greece. All this can be accomplished by applying the philosophy of Total Quality Management, which has proven that it can change the results.
