Η εργασιακή εξουθένωση των εκπαιδευτικών στην πρωτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση (Master thesis)
Ζυγούρη, Ελένη
The present thesis examines the theme of the burnout of teachers in primary
education. Occupational burnout syndrome is a psychosomatic condition in which
large numbers of people enter during the exercise of their profession.
The purpose of the specific research is to examine occupational burnout, job
satisfaction, role ambiguity, role conflict and safety at work at the case of primary
education. For this purpose, a quantitative research takes place, using as research tool
the questionnaire in a sample of 108 primary school teachers in Trikala Prefecture of
Greece.
As the data analysis showed, burnout is positively correlated with job satisfaction, the
ambiguity of roles correlates negatively with burnout and the conflict of roles is
positively correlated with burnout, findings that are in agreement with the
literature. However, the survey reveals that men and women differ in burnout,
something that contradicts the theoretical analysis that suggests that women show
greater burnout than men. Also, this research showed that men and women do not
differ in job satisfaction, a finding which agrees with the bibliographic analysis of this
thesis. Finally it was found out that men and women differ in the feeling of safety at
work, where male teachers feel more secure in their jobs than women do
