Ενδοσχολική Επιμόρφωση Εκπαιδευτικών: Υφιστάμενη Κατάσταση και Προοπτικές (Master thesis)

ABSTRACT Nowadays it is commonly accepted that teachers’ education, especially the in-school one, plays an important role in modern educational process, both at global and national levels. More and more countries worldwide are constantly and with greater interest promoting the introduction of training programs of teachers. The training-education is very closely tied to the teacher, since it strengthens his / her work and the quality of his / her knowledge; however, the results are reflected on the students, meeting their needs, both at the cognitive level and at the level of behavior. Consequently, education of teachers is a key factor in upgrading, not only the education provided to the students, but also the education system in general. In particular, the in-school training brings teachers much closer to training methods. This is because two of the very important advantages training education has are the following: first, the ability to provide teachers with the opportunity not to need to travel in order to be educated, and second the ability to meet the special needs of each school, which in most cases can not fit into the same context needs, even if the school units are in the same county. The research part of the present paper deals with the views of secondary education teachers in the Prefecture of Kavala on in-school training education. Its ultimate aim and purpose is to explore those factors that contribute most to the development of the appropriate conditions for the successful outcome of in-school training education and defining ways to improve existing conditions.
