The section of Physical therapy that deals with respiratory diseases is called respiratory physical therapy. It’s an important and very developed sector nowadays at point to be very helpful patients with bronchial asthma and especially at younger age. The main subject of this report is the bronchial asthma in childhood, which is a usual phenomenon the last few years. Bronchial asthma is a common long term inflammatory disease of the airways of the lungs. It’s thought to be caused by genetic (intrinsic factor) and environmental factors (extrinsic factor). In 1993, the number of incidents at hospitals in USA, for children with bronchial asthma under 15 years old was 159.000. 4,8 millions of children were suffering by bronchial asthma. This report has two parts. The first part consists of anatomic and physiology of respiratory system. The second part contains all the bronchial asthma clues, curing techniques and prevention methods. The literature review is a very important part of this report that deals with researches on physiotherapy techniques. The combination of these techniquescan have positive effects in the attenuated organism of the child. The results have shown that science continuous to develop every single day and with the suitable breathing pattern the development of the quality of life and physical resistance will be remarkable. Finally, the meaning of physical therapy in the life – course of an asthmatic child is a very crucial aspect.
