This diploma thesis was conducted within the framework of the program of the 6th semester of the Department of Library and Information Systems of the Alexandrian Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki. The aim of the work is designing a website under the name "Famous People of Thessaloniki 1912-2014". The reason why this topic was chosen for the dissertation is on the one hand, its uniqueness and originality, on the other hand, my particular interest in the city of Thessaloniki, its history and the personalities that contributed to its cultural development. Initially, the theoretical part of the work will be presented, the selection of the personalities that were collected, the creation of categories, the criteria for their selection and the biographies that accompany them. Next, the design of the site, its structure analysis and the way it is constructed will be presented. A step-by-step description of how the site was constructed with the help of the open source content management system, Wordpress, will be presented in detail, as well as the hosting services. Finally, there will follow printed pages of the website and the final conclusions of the dissertation, in addition to the bibliographic sources that were used and registered by the APA (American Psychological Association) Citing Style.
