User survey and evaluation of services of Veria Public Central Library (Bachelor thesis)

The Veria Public Central Library was put into operation in the building
that is now in existence since 1999, as it was previously in a rented space. It
provides its services through its central building, a branch building and its two
mobile libraries throughout the local community and its collection contains
over 100,000 items. To date, its members are more than 34,000 members
and the library hosts activities, events, training courses promoting reading,
creativity and innovation.
The purpose of this paper, " User survey and evaluation of services of
Veria Public Central Library" is to present the library and specifically all the
services it provides, making it known to a wider audience. Through the user
survey, users were asked to evaluate it. The medium that was used to
conduct the survey was the questionnaire, which was completed by 100
library users.
Through the results of the survey, the purpose was to gather and get to
know the views of the users so that they can analyze and make suggestions
to improve the library. The results were quite satisfactory, indicating that the
Veria Public Central Library has raised the bar of public libraries of the
country. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the internship I did in the library
was the reason for choosing this topic.

| Abstract: | Η Δημόσια Κεντρική Βιβλιοθήκη Βέροιας, τέθηκε σε λειτουργία στο
κτίριο που βρίσκεται σήμερα από το 1999, καθώς πριν βρισκόταν σε
ενοικιαζόμενο χώρο. Παρέχει τις υπηρεσίες της μέσω του κεντρικού της
κτιρίου, του παραρτήματος και των δύο κινητών βιβλιοθηκών της σε όλη την
τοπική κοινότητα και η συλλογή της περιέχει πάνω από 100.000 τεκμήρια.
Μέχρι σήμερα τα μέλη της αριθμούν πάνω από 34.000 και συχνά
διοργανώνονται στο χώρο της δραστηριότητες, εκδηλώσεις, εκπαιδευτικά
μαθήματα προωθώντας την ανάγνωση, τη δημιουργικότητα και την
καινοτομία.
Σκοπός της παρούσας εργασίας με θέμα «Αποτίμηση των υπηρεσιών
της Δημόσιας Κεντρικής Βιβλιοθήκης Βέροιας και έρευνα χρηστών», είναι να
προβάλλει τη βιβλιοθήκη και συγκεκριμένα όλες τις υπηρεσίες που παρέχει,
κάνοντάς τη γνωστή σε ένα ευρύτερο κοινό. Μέσω της έρευνας χρηστών οι
χρήστες κλήθηκαν να την αξιολογήσουν. Το μέσο που χρησιμοποιήθηκε για
τη διεξαγωγή της έρευνας ήταν το ερωτηματολόγιο, το οποίο συμπληρώθηκε
από 100 χρήστες της βιβλιοθήκης.
Μέσω των αποτελεσμάτων της έρευνας, σκοπός ήταν να
συγκεντρωθούν και να γίνουν γνωστές οι απόψεις των χρηστών, έτσι ώστε να
αναλυθούν και να γίνουν προτάσεις βελτίωσης της βιβλιοθήκης. Τα
αποτελέσματα ήταν αρκετά ικανοποιητικά, κάτι που φανερώνει ότι η Δημόσια
Βιβλιοθήκη της Βέροιας έχει ανεβάσει υψηλά τον πήχη των δημοσίων
βιβλιοθηκών της χώρας. Τέλος, αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι η πρακτική άσκηση
που έκανα μέσα στη βιβλιοθήκη, υπήρξε η αφορμή για την επιλογή του
