Τhe aim of this diploma thesis is to investigate the views of the educators of N. Ioannina regarding the Differentiated teaching and its use in the education of refugee pupils. The thesis consists of the theoretical part and the empirical part. The theoretical refers to the refugee issue and the needs for the education of foreign-refugee pupils, both in the Intercultural school and in the schools of General Education. Reference is made to Differentiated Teaching in order to understand its meaning, what are the principles that determine it, what forms it can take in the pedagogical act and especially what its usefulness is to be considered a necessary tool in the teaching of foreign pupils. We also describe how we can apply differentiated teaching more effectively, as well as what kind of differentiation (pedagogical, didactic) the teacher applies, what is the role of the teacher and how the evaluation works in the didactic process during the differentiation process, as well as in the teaching methods of differentiation. We refer to Intercultural Education, Differentiation of Teaching and especially to the strategies that teachers implement to teach in mixed classes with heterogeneous learners who have linguistic and cultural differences. Ιn the second part, the empirical one, we demonstrate the methodology of the research we have carried out, the findings of the research, the conclusions and the proposals. The findings of the survey reveal that teachers of primary Education, especially in Intercultural Schools, apply the Differentiated Teaching, consider it necessary and suggest frequent training to be able to cope with mixed classes with foreign students.
