Διαδικτυακή παρουσίαση των Χριστιανικών μνημείων της Θεσσαλονίκης (Bachelor thesis)

In this small work are presented 15 archaeological monuments of Thessaloniki according to their chronology and importance. These are exclusively Christian monuments. They are temples still functioning in their majority. Aim of this work is the presentation of these monuments in connection with the history and the sufferings of the city which accommodate them and the sufferings of his citizens. The temples here presented they were build till the start of Turkish domination. A lot of them they were transmuted to mosques and they bare till today the signs of this transmutation. They are living and eternal martyrs of the history of Thessaloniki which never stopped to be inhabited for 23 centuries now. The method followed was firstly the inquiry in town’s libraries for finding relative books and then ground visitation, inquiry of every monument separately. What followed was photo shooting and video recording of every monument for his more complete presentation. In conclusion I have to mention the great importance of all this monuments not only for the history of this town and his citizens, but also for me personally, because it was a unique and newfound experience.

| Abstract: | Η μικρή αυτή εργασία παρουσιάζει 15 αρχαιολογικά μνημεία της Θεσσαλονίκης με χρονολογική σειρά και σπουδαιότητα. Αυτά είναι αποκλειστικά χριστιανικά μνημεία. Πρόκειται για ναούς που στην πλειοψηφία τους ακόμη λειτουργούν. Στόχος αυτής της εργασίας είναι να παρουσιάσει τα μνημεία αυτά σε συνάρτηση με την ιστορία και τα παθήματα της πόλης που τα φιλοξενεί και τα μαρτύρια των κατοίκων της. Οι ναοί που παραθέτονται κτίστηκαν μέχρι τις απαρχές της τουρκοκρατίας. Πολλοί από αυτούς μετατράπηκαν σε μουσουλμανικά τεμένη και φέρουν ακόμη τα χαρακτηριστικά αυτής της μετατροπής. Είναι ζωντανοί και διαρκείς μάρτυρες της ιστορίας της Θεσσαλονίκης που δεν έπαψε να κατοικείται και να δημιουργεί 23 αιώνες τώρα. Η μέθοδος εργασίας που ακολουθήθηκε ήταν αρχικά η έρευνα σε βιβλιοθήκες της πόλης για την ανεύρεση σχετικών βιβλίων και κατόπιν η επιτόπια επίσκεψη και έρευνα του κάθε μνημείου-ναού ξεχωριστά. Ακολούθησε φωτογράφηση-βιντεοσκόπηση του κάθε μνημείου για την πληρέστερη παρουσίασή του. Συμπερασματικά θα πρέπει να αναφέρω τη μεγάλη σπουδαιότητα αυτών των μνημείων όχι μόνο για την ιστορία της πόλης και των κατοίκων της, αλλά και για μένα προσωπικά, διότι ήταν πράγματι μια μοναδική και πρωτόγνωρη εμπειρία.
