Συνεργασία σχολείου και οικογένειας για τη διαχείριση παιδιών με Διαταραχές Αυτιστικού Φάσματος στην προσχολική αγωγή (Master thesis)

The aim of the present research is to investigate and record the views, attitudes and experiences of nursery and preschool teachers, working in preschool education, in relation with the issue of productive collaboration between themselves and the families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). More extensively, the research examined their attitude towards the challenge of creating collaborative relationships with the parents, the potential pitfalls that might arise, the benefits obtained by all sides (educators, parents and students) and, finally, the variables that arise from this relationship and how these affect the configuration of student management by the educator. The collection of research data was carried out using the interview method. The 15 participants, currently working in municipal preschools and nurseries in Eastern Thessaloniki, participated by answering open-ended questions. In conclusion, encouraging results were acquired through the qualitative analysis of the data obtained, something which both projected the positive attitude and disposition of the preschool/ nursery teachers towards promoting fruitful cooperation with the families of children with ASD and pinpointed the benefits and positive elements that emerge from this relationship and aid in the educators' better managing the students, in a school that respects and promotes diversity, a school for everyone.
