Ένταξη και χρήση του εκπαιδευτικού παιχνιδιού στην εκπαιδευτική διαδικασία (Master thesis)

With the development of technology and the rapid development of computers, new working conditions have been created in the field of education. The new technological data has allowed the teachers to work continuously providing them with the necessary resources to support and improve their teaching. At the same time, however, the pupils' training requirements on new subjects as well as on training needs in new technologies have been increased. The role of the teacher has evolved and his required cognitive horizons have widened. Only through its continuous training can it stand enough in the new educational process Additionally, there was another issue that needs to be addressed. The familiarization of students with computers and the increasing use of electronic games placed the teacher at a "disadvantageous" position, as part of the learning curriculum was already occupied by pupils (at a higher level). In addition, engaging in computer games has provided children with a completely different and multidimensional interaction environment that contrasts with the one dimensional environment of the classroom as a result doesn’t show up interest in learning. In this work we will examine the possibility of integrating and using electronic games in the educational process. In the first part of the thesis we analyze the electronic games, their categorization, their trends, the advantages and the drawbacks of their use as well as their theoretical approaches in the educational environment. Also, there are some game and web suggestions where teachers can turn to. In the second part, of the research, are presented the views of the primary education teachers on the electronic game and their integration into the educational reality of the Greek elementary school. Analyzing their views, are presented the results - conclusions of the research as well as the areas of possible future research.
