The aim of the present study was to investigate the views of the primary education
teachers in the prefecture of Arta on the empowerment they receive from the leader leader and the leadership style that he adopts. The survey was conducted in April
2019 in the primary schools of the prefecture of Arta and involved 174 teachers.
Teachers were given a structured questionnaire through goggle forms, which included
questions about their work, the leadership of their school unit, and the empowerment
they receive from the leader-leader. Also, in terms of empowerment, it included
questions about the benefits that arise from it and the difficulties presented. Teachers
were selected with convenient sampling and completed an online questionnaire.
The results showed that Primary Education teachers in the Prefecture of Arta
generally have a positive view of the leadership adopted by their school principal and
the empowerment they provide. In particular, it appears that the director-leader they
describe has elements that refer more to the transformative and distributed leadership
and empower them both psychologically and through rewards, and on the basis of
structural-relative empowerment. The advantages for themselves are the feeling of
satisfaction and self-efficacy and for school, improving it at all levels. The difficulties
that may arise during the empowerment are moderate motivation due to the manager's
increased administrative duties, but the general picture given to his leadership is
positive.
