Incidents of conflicts occur commonly into all aspects of social and family life. The conflict escalates and develops especially when the parties can’t, or do not know, how to communicate openly and honestly. Communication is more effective when people are able to exchange information accurately about events and feelings and bad communication occurs when people can’t accurately understand the events or feelings they share. A poor communication is often what is hidden under misunderstandings that can then evolve into violent conflicts. Over the last decades, the global educational community has been studying the issue of school violence, called “bullying”. Modern Greek society and school are shaped in the same context, while at the same time being plagued by the economic and humanitarian crisis. The present study was conducted in order to generate data on the perception of the institution of school mediation as a means of preventing and resolving cases of violence and intimidation in Greek schools and especially in schools in the region of Ioannina. Research evidence is encouraging teachers’ intent for school mediation, as 55.77% fully agree with the introduction of the institution in schools, and about 70% think that teachers work can be improved by adopting the schooling process mediation. Moreover, despite the low percentage of already trained teachers in school mediation (11.54%), a percentage of 80.77% of the respondents said they would like to participate in this process. Finally, it can be seen as a positive effect on pupils, school and, by extension, society. Further research is considered necessary in order to explore the options that may be useful in solving conflicts within schools and to prevent school bullying.
