Introduction: Continuing nursing education programs are usually designed to maintain or increase relevant professional knowledge or technical skills. Purpose: This is a research paper aimed at investigating the degree of satisfaction of nurses working in state-controlled nursing institutions in the Greek region, specifically in the Municipality of Thessaloniki, from their participation in lifelong learning programs. In addition, a secondary objective is to investigate the parameters that shape the level of satisfaction of nurses from their participation in lifelong learning programs. Results: It was found that gender, age, years of work experience and marital status are not factors that significantly affect the general satisfaction of participants' educational needs from continuing education programs Conclusions: The development of educational programs based on the actual needs after research on the motivational factors is considered necessary. Participation in continuing nursing programs contributes to improving nursing care, can reduce costs, increase productivity, minimize accidents and medical and pharmaceutical errors, and reduce work-related stress.
