The present study explores the phenomenon of conflicts in vocational high schools and focuses on the role of the Director. Specifically, the study examines the types of conflicts, the causes of their challenge within the vocational high schools, the positive and negative effects that arise from the conflict and emphasize the role of the Director. In order to investigate the teachers’ attributes towards conflicts, was used the conflict orientation scale as suggested by Everard and Morris (1999). This scale concludes five possible attitudes that can be adopted by teachers: fighting, avoiding, smoothing, compromising and problem solving. In addition, the research investigates the contribution of high school teachers’ and directors’ demographics. As well as, the influence of leadership behavior on the orientation of conflicts does exist. Regarding the exploration of leadership, was used the leadership behavior scale of the school principal (Hoy & Clover, 1986). This scale distinguishes leadership styles into three categories: the supportive, the guiding and the limiting. The method used is a quantitative research using self-referral questionnaires distributed to secondary school teachers. The sample of the survey is 110 secondary school teachers. The results of the survey showed that Vocational Lyceum Managers adopt "Solution" as a conflict resolution method and exercise "Supporting" leadership. At the same time, it exists differentiation causes and effects of conflicts in terms of teachers and directors, the demographic characteristics play an important role in attitude choice, and finally the supportive leadership style is chosen, which has a positive correlation with the attitudes of problems’ solution, the smoothing and the compromising
