Η συνεργασία σχολείου - οικογένειας στη σύγχρονη δημόσια πρωτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση (Master thesis)

This diploma thesis refers to the study of the methods and practices applied in the elementary
school, to the factors influencing parental participation and, in particular, to the investigation
of attitudes and behavior chosen and applied by teachers in public primary education. The
starting point for the selection of the subject was the importance and the usefulness of the
subject and, on the other hand, the emerging need for "updating" and its further analysis.
The objectives were: a) to show the perception and professional attitude of the teachers
regarding the cooperation with the parents; b) to show the form of cooperation and the ways
they use for the participation of the parents in the school; c) to study the cooperative content
and ways of informing parents; d) to explore the type and the way of cooperation when there
are problems with children; and e) to look for teachers' behavioral elements for enlargement
and to promote quality co-operation.
The sample of the survey consisted of 10 teachers serving in primary education and in
particular in schools of three municipalities in the wider area of the city of Thessaloniki and
specifically in the municipalities of Neapolis-Sykeon, Pavlos Melas and Kordelio-Evosmos.
For the implementation of the survey, the method of quality approach was chosen and the tool
for data collection is the semi-direct interview. In order to process and analyze the data
collected, the principles of the content analysis method were applied.
From the analysis of the answers given, it follows that: School-family cooperation is a
prerequisite and is considered a factor that makes a difference as it contributes decisively to
the formation of a good school climate and enables teachers to provide services in an
integrated and effective manner their. The quality of the outcome of the education provided
depends to a large extent on the quality of communication, relationships and cooperation
between teachers and parents. Parents essentially talk to teachers with their personality, and
teachers need to have skills and abilities to inspire and motivate parents.
