Firstly, an attempt is made to describe an electronically-controlled steering system, with an emphasis on the specifications it should fulfill. The theoretical part of the system study and design is analyzed in order to proceed with the construction. At the same time, the function of the spare parts that are used, as well as their electronic control units, are described. Based on that study, the design and construction of such a system results, and is applied to a tad-pole tricycle. The system study and design procedures are described, along with the manufacturing details of the mounted parts. Furthermore, some errors that occurred in this attempt are analyzed, before an acceptable result was obtained.
Finally, we realize the difficulty in developing such systems, as their function requires complicated control structures.
