In this senior thesis the main subject is the braking systems of heavy vehicles. It consists of three main parts; the first part presents us the hydraulic braking systems focused on trucks. More specifically it elaborates on brake fluid, disc brakes, snare drums, pads and a variety of pressure valves. The second part elaborates on the functioning and the fittings of pneumatic braking system (pneumatic), describe us the hydropneumatic braking system and the parking system-emergency. At the third part of this senior thesis presents the secondary braking systems of heavy vehicles, for instance ABS , EBS ,ESP-ESC , ASR and a variety of systems like these which help efficiently the braking of heavy vehicles in these contemporary times because of the technological progress.
