Occupational satisfaction and burnout have been the subject of research in the medical field in recent years due to their negative impact that exert on employees, patients healthcare and further on the countries health care system. The aim of this study was to outline the profile of resident doctors, focusing on their occupational satisfaction, causes of anxiety and symptoms of burnout in the geographical area of ​​Thessaloniki. The questions of the research were developed with the aim to find the causes of satisfaction, anxiety and burnout. In order to answer the questions above, a primary research was conducted on sample of 127 resident doctors in a hospital in Thessaloniki. Methodologically the questionnaire was based on weighted questionnaires of Maslach, Buranta and Avdimiotis and was processed with the use of SPSS 20 and Amos 19. The basic findings indicate that resident doctors exhibit symptoms of burn out, work-related stress and other accompanying symptoms. At the same time, this has a significant impact on their occupational satisfaction, which is also characterized by the recognition of their role in the society.
