The goal of this assignment, is to provide the reader with a complete picture regarding the activity of biking in Europe. The multifarious approach we used, includes the estimation of modern cities' infrastructures, the exciting parts of biking and what we must be wary of; finally, we will express all these points and promote them within the framework of tourism. After researching the manuscripts of the European parliament about modern citizens' current living situation, we studied how drastically the bike can fit into their lives and whether it can be an effective means of transportation during one's vacation. Furthermore, we investigate biking in a larger scale, from the impact it has on configuring cities, to its contribution on the planet. Being a tourism organization, we translated all this information into tourism data, studying the profiles of tourist bikers; and thus concluded upon the effectiveness and longevity biking has, as an independent tourism field in this age. While reaching the end, we come to many positive conclusions, not only regarding our personal daily lives; but in our coexistence as citizens and inhabitants of Earth. With climate phenomena peaking and the constantly escalating environmental crisis our planet is it becomes apparent that biking should not be viewed as a hobby or merely a means of transportation, but rather, it should be considered a lifestyle and we should focus on its implementation in order to ensure a climatically better tomorrow. Biking allows us to move within the city with much ease. However, that isn't so easily applicable, as each city's representatives and we as citizens must put in the work to make cities and our attitudes friendlier towards biking. From a purely tourist perspective, things are easier, as Europe is filled with gorgeous landscape and historically rich sights; and the bike is a more than suitable and healthy way to visit them all. Not only does biking make our transportation easier and more pleasant during our vacation, but also it paves a healthier future both for us and the environment.
