Αντιλήψεις εκπαιδευτικών ειδικής αγωγής δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης για τον ρόλο της επιμόρφωσης στην εκπαιδευτική πράξη (Bachelor thesis)

The present thesis aims to explore the perceptions of Secondary Education special education teachers regarding the role of teacher training in educational practice. It is a fact that, nowadays, teacher training is predominant and many educational training programs are organized by different institutions in order to better equip teachers and improve their educational work. Such training programs exist for special education as well. It is, therefore, useful to record the perceptions of teachers working in the field of special education on issues related to their training. The present study is quantitative and is conducted through a questionnaire aimed at recording teachers' attitudes on the specific subject. The research sample consisted of 100 secondary education special education teachers and the analysis of the research data was done using SPSS 21.0 statistical package. The analysis is based on the verification of research hypotheses and, more specifically, on their confirmation or rejection. The results showed that teachers' perceptions of special education training are influenced by the gender of teachers, their age, years of service in Special Education and Training Units, and attendance of a Special Education and Training seminar lasting at least 400 hours.
