Οι πρακτικές που χρησιμοποιούν οι εκπαιδευτικοί των ΕΠΑΛ για να διαχειριστούν τους μαθητές με καταθλιπτικές εκδηλώσεις (Bachelor thesis)

The present study aimed to examine the practices used by teachers of Technical Lyceums in order to manage their students’ depressive manifestations. For this purpose, the researcher conducted interviews with 20 teachers working in different schools of West Thessaloniki. This study used a convenient sample while the participants’ age range was between 43-59 years (M= 52.3 years). After the end of these 20 interviews, the researcher completed the transcription of the collected data and continued with the analysis of the transcripts in order to be emerged some themes and subthemes. Results of empirical analysis showed that discussing with students, getting in touch with them, formulating a good teacher-student relationship, encouraging students to take initiatives, motivating them, approaching them discreetly during school breaks or after the end of the school time, creating a “calm” school environment and mutual respect were the most widely used practices used by teachers to manage students with depressive manifestations. However, future studies with mixed methodological designs are needed in order for these results to be generalized in the population of teachers.
