Η ηθική ως παράμετρος της άσκησης διοίκησης σε σχολικές μονάδες της πρωτοβάθμιας εκαπίδευσης (Bachelor thesis)

Ethics, since ancient times, has been a reference point for political and social life and has built the foundations of ancient Greek philosophy, education and society. Studying the Aristotelian ethics of virtues, one finds that morality is not an obstacle to human existence and behavior, but a field of free thinking and action. This ethics leads to a better and deeper understanding of the human existence, values, moral choices and dilemmas that modern education leadership is called to manage. Besides, the concept of leadership includes the concept of ethics. The increasing phenomena of social pathogenesis have highlighted the need to redefine the concept of ethics and reintegrate it into school leadership. The aim of this qualitative research is to highlight the ethical dimension of the role of the director, who is also the school's moral guide, the ethical concerns and dilemmas arising from his relationship with the educators, the ways of solving the conflicts between them, as well as teachers' perceptions of ethics. The results of the survey have highlighted the desire of many teachers to change the way they perceive ethics, as there is no clear view of what ethics is. The manager's contribution to the moral education of children with his / her personal attitude, as well as the effectiveness of the school through his / her moral values and his / her cooperation with teachers, is acknowledged. It also notes the importance of integrating training programs for teaching moral values and dealing with moral dilemmas. Ethics therefore contributes to the development and progress of the school, through a democratic leadership that supports its foundations in ethical values.
