The purpose of this work is to provide a more detailed analysis of the distance education (elearning) of employees in a company - regarding Greek data - and also to clarify what affects the acceptance and resistance of employees to a corporate e-learning initiative that is provided by a large retail chain. A sample of 179 people was surveyed using a questionnaire containing well-structured questions. Our statistical tool for outputting the results to perform factor analysis and correlating variables was IBM SPSS. The following results emerged in the research: The general attitude and perceptions of employees about distance learning are considered positive. 74.8% believe that the distance education provided by their employer is sufficient or very important. A significant percentage also believes that it has improved the performance and productivity of their work through e-learning. Most also believe that distance learning is interesting and easy to understand. The research findings will be very useful to HR departments and organizational decision makers who need to seek the input and perspective of many stakeholders to ensure that distance learning and digital education strategies are appropriate not only in terms of economic and technological feasibility but also in the interest of a lasting positive outcome for employees and the business in general.
