The purpose of the present work is to study a particularly important and topical topic, that of integrating innovation in education. Innovation takes many forms and its integration into education has been and continues to be in recent years in most states of the world. The benefits of innovation are many and greatly enhance the educational process. The concept and importance of innovation are first outlined, while an attempt is made to classify the types of innovation. Then, a link between innovation and creativity is made, and the factors that may lead to innovation but more generally the innovation system are presented. In addition, in an effort to explore the introduction of innovation into the educational process, the current state of schools, the relationship between education and learning, the use of technology in education and the use of computers by young people are presented. Particular emphasis is also placed on the definition of educational innovation but also on the barriers to innovation in education. Finally, there is a plan to create an educational video by the students of the last two grades of the Lyceum, aimed at learning the modern history of the 20th century about the important persons who were so important to the city of Thessaloniki that the names now they represent the streets of the city.
