The main point of this study is to give prominence to the form of intervention and effect of physiotherapy in children and teenagers that have suffered from traumatic brain injury, from their admission to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) until the last stages of their rehabilitation. A literature review has been conducted on the platforms PubMed and PEDro. The following filters were used for the research: clinical trials and literature reviews, publication dates within 5 years, humans, English and Greek language. 207 articles were found and studied, of which 173 were rejected because whether they existed in duplicate, were irrelevant to the study or weren't available in full-text. From the remaining 34 articles, the full-text articles were studied. 8 more articles were rejected because of irrelevance to the topic of this study. In the end, 26 articles were used. The results of this research indicated that physiotherapy of patients that have suffered from traumatic brain injury can be extremely effective in the improvement of the respiratory function, the mobility and the retraining of the motor patterns. There are investigations that are referring to some methods that are used in neurological patients, some of which are presented in this study. However, the rehabilitation of children and teenagers depends on numerous factors as the patient's age, the severity of the damage, the area of the injury, etc. This fact makes the rehabilitation even more complicated and harder.
