Βιολογική καλλιέργεια υπαίθριας τομάτας (Bachelor thesis)
Επισκόπου, Ιωάννα
Tomatoes are considered the main cultivated vegetable in Greece. That is why a lot of things have been said in recent years for its organic production. By organic farming, we mean the method of plant cultivation, which minimizes or completely avoids the use of synthetic fertilizers and herbicides which are plant and hormone growth regulators and supplementary in animal feed. Tomato is classified into different categories according to the size of its fruit, the layout of its stem etc. As regards plant protection, against secticides, fungi, bacteria, viruses and weeds alternative methods are used in accordance with regulations 2092/91, 834/2007 and 998/2008, one of which is rotation. Nowadays, the replacement of traditional varieties by hybrids has enabled producers to create plants that are more durable and have excellent growth properties.
