The individual has always had a major concern regarding the insurance of his health, either as a personal or as social good. Thus, the composition of a health system, as well as its quality characteristics, reflect inevitably a part of the cultural expression of a society. The Primary Health Care (PHC) constitutes a subsystem of the National Healthcare System, which aims to introduce the patient to the Health Services provided by the State. The qualitative presence of the PHC contributes, in a great degree, to the improvement of the role and the responsibilities of the Healthcare Services, and by extension to the ability to respond to health problems that emerge the last few years. Its rational and effective development may provide sustainable options to the healthcare systems, in order to face challenges emerged in the Greek, but also in the broad reality of health services. The purpose of this particular study is to analyse the PHC within the Administrative Region, referencing specifically the services of the PHC of the 3rd Health District (Macedonia). The study is divided in two parts. In the first part there is a bibliographical retrospect of the PHC in Greece and abroad. In the second part follows a detailed recording of the structural organization of the institutions providing PHC services in the 3rd Health District (Macedonia). There are also being processed nosological data between the lustrum of 2015-2019, payroll costs, functional expenditure. And finally, the study is being completed by the conclusions of the research-study and the propositions.
