This paper attempts to investigate the perceptions of secondary school teachers in Greece in relation to the role of leadership in the development of communication and cooperation between teachers of general and special education of the school, with emphasis on improving school culture. In the theoretical part, the concepts of educational leadership and school culture are analyzed in detail, the role of the Principal is clarified, while the importance of the cooperative spirit among teachers is highlighted and the models of cooperation between general and special education teachers are presented, as well as the benefits and the factors that prevent it. In the research part, through an anonymous questionnaire addressed to general and special education teachers, an attempt is made to record and evaluate the basic aspects of school culture, school administration by the Principal, communication for decision making and peer-professional relations, as perceived and interpreted by the teachers who participated in the research. The participants in the research give a clear lead to the reinforcing role of the Principal in terms of school culture. The following is a comparison of the profile of teachers in relation to gender, education and their perceptions-answers to the questionnaire, in order to interpret the results and submit proposals based on theoretical and research approaches.
