Ο ρόλος του πολιτικού μηχανικού στην τοποθέτηση οπτικών ινών. Παράδειγμα τοποθέτησης στο Δημαρχείο Κορδελιού Ευόσμου (Bachelor thesis)

This thesis deals with the subject of optical fibers and their use in civil engineering. This is a relatively new achievement, as it appeared in the 1960s and has since been applied in more and more fields. In particular, optical fibers are used, among others, in telecommunications and the internet, in medical applications and in infrastructure projects. The advantages of optical fibers are many and for this reason they are chosen by the experts in various fields.
As far as civil engineers are concerned, they use optical fibers in many projects around the world, such as bridges and highways, with the ultimate goal of user safety and, by extension, economic and social benefits, as damages and problems are identified through them as early as the first stages of their appearance, so that they can be restored immediately.
In the context of this work, various researches and studies that have taken place on the subject are presented and the case of the installation of optical fibers in Thessaloniki and more specifically in the City Hall of Kordelio - Evosmos is presented using images and diagrams.

| Abstract: | Η παρούσα πτυχιακή εργασία πραγματεύεται το θέμα των οπτικών ινών και τη χρήση τους στον τομέα των πολιτικών μηχανικών. Πρόκειται για ένα σχετικά νέο επίτευγμα, καθώς εμφανίστηκε τη δεκαετία του 1960 και έκτοτε εφαρμόζεται σε όλο και περισσότερους τομείς. Ειδικότερα, οι οπτικές ίνες χρησιμοποιούνται μεταξύ άλλων στις τηλεπικοινωνίες και το διαδίκτυο, στις εφαρμογές ιατρική και σε έργα υποδομής. Τα πλεονεκτήματα των οπτικών ινών είναι πολλά και για αυτόν τον λόγο επιλέγονται από τους ειδικούς σε διάφορους τομείς.
Σε ότι αφορά τους πολιτικούς μηχανικούς χρησιμοποιούνται οπτικές ίνες σε πολλά έργα ανά τον κόσμο, όπως είναι οι γέφυρες και οι αυτοκινητόδρομοι με απώτερο σκοπό την ασφάλεια των χρηστών και κατ’ επέκταση τα οικονομικά και κοινωνικά οφέλη, καθώς εντοπίζονται μέσω αυτών ζημιές και προβλήματα ήδη από τα πρώτα στάδια εμφάνισής τους, ώστε να αποκατασταθούν άμεσα.
Στο πλαίσιο αυτής της εργασίας παρουσιάζονται διάφορες έρευνες και μελέτες που έχουν λάβει χώρα επί του θέματος . Eπίσης παρουσιάζεται η περίπτωση εγκατάστασης οπτικών ινών στη Θεσσαλονίκη και πιο συγκεκριμένα στο Δημαρχείο Κορδελιού – Ευόσμου με τη χρήση εικόνων και σχημάτων.
