Αποτελεσματικές μέθοδοι διδασκαλίας στη Δευτεροβάθμια Εκπαίδευση (Master thesis)

Effective teaching, which addresses existing and ever-emerging problems, responds to the peculiarities of each student, mobilizes learning interest, promotes active participation and interaction, and, ultimately, achieves the best possible learning outcomes, is a timeless request, which has occupied and will continue to employ pedagogical science. The above stimuli motivated the conduct of the present scientific study, the purpose of which is to identify, through the investigation, with the most measurable elements, the most effective methods of teaching for the Secondary Education courses, the level of training of the teachers on the methods and the range of their application in greek education. In order to achieve the goal of the paper, a quantitative survey was conducted in February 2018 using an online questionnaire as a collection tool. The target population of the survey was 89 teachers of all specialties from all the prefectures of Greece who work in Secondary Education, in the public and private sector or both. The responses to the questionnaire show that greek teachers are trained in new teaching methods and find it feasible to apply them to education. The evaluation of each one of the new methods in isolation is impossible, as it is differentiated according to the requirements of the circumstances and the subject of teaching. Utilizing different methods alternatively and in combination can produce the expected results. The originality of this study lies in the fact that, although effective methods have been investigated, there are no investigations involving all methods, addressing all Secondary Education teachers and investigating effectiveness per occasion.
