The rapid evolution of technology has changed the daily lives of people and as a
result they are constantly looking for its use and need for new innovations in it. One
of the technological innovations is the information and communication technology,
which has entered many sectors of economic activity. It is also useful to note that
information and communication technology has penetrated the educational sector,
improving the efficiency of its operation. The benefits of adopting it are numerous
both from the teachers 'and students' point of view. In the context of the present study,
the adoption of information and communication technology by the modern school is
examined and in particular the attitude of teachers towards its use is studied. For this
reason, an empirical study was carried out using a structured questionnaire distributed
to Primary and Secondary Education teachers in the city of Thessaloniki. Research
results have shown that teachers feel comfortable using this form of technology and
its tools, while recognizing the benefits they offer. Finally, they recognize some of the
obstacles or challenges involved in using information and communication technology
and the reporting of which can lead to overcoming them.

| Abstract: | Η ραγδαία εξέλιξη της τεχνολογίας έχει μεταβάλει την καθημερινότητα των ατόμων
με αποτέλεσμα να αποζητούν τη χρήση της συνεχώς και να έχουν ανάγκη για νέες
καινοτομίες σε αυτήν. Μία από τις καινοτομίες της τεχνολογίας είναι η τεχνολογία
της πληροφορίας και της επικοινωνίας, η οποία έχει εισέλθει σε αρκετούς τομείς
οικονομικής δραστηριότητας. Επίσης, είναι χρήσιμο να σημειωθεί ότι η τεχνολογία
της πληροφορίας και της επικοινωνίας έχει εισχωρήσει στον εκπαιδευτικό τομέα
βελτιώνοντας την αποτελεσματικότητα της λειτουργίας του. Τα οφέλη από την
υιοθέτησή της είναι πολυάριθμα τόσο από τη σκοπιά των εκπαιδευτικών όσο και από
εκείνη των μαθητών. Στα πλαίσια εκπόνησης της παρούσας μελέτης εξετάζεται η
υιοθέτηση της τεχνολογίας της πληροφορίας και της επικοινωνίας από το σύγχρονο
σχολείο και συγκεκριμένα μελετάται η στάση των εκπαιδευτικών έναντι της χρήσης
της. Για το λόγο αυτό πραγματοποιήθηκε μία εμπειρική μελέτη με τη χρήση ενός
δομημένου ερωτηματολογίου, το οποίο διανεμήθηκε σε εκπαιδευτικούς της
Πρωτοβάθμιας και της Δευτεροβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης στην πόλη της Θεσσαλονίκης.
Τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας απέδειξαν ότι οι εκπαιδευτικοί αισθάνονται άνετα με
τη χρήση αυτής της μορφής της τεχνολογίας και των εργαλείων της, ενώ παράλληλα
αναγνωρίζουν τα οφέλη που προσφέρουν. Τέλος, αναγνωρίζουν ορισμένα εμπόδια ή
προκλήσεις που συνεπάγεται η χρήση της τεχνολογίας της πληροφορίας και της
επικοινωνίας και η αναφορά των οποίων μπορεί να οδηγήσει στην αντιμετώπισή
