This thesis is about the process of organizing and cataloging the material of the library of the 4 th Middle School of Neapoli , Thessaloniki and its aim was to create a useful and functional school library as well as our familiarization with the whole process. We present basic information about the specific school and describe the problems we faced. The whole process is described i n detail items ’ recording, creation of authority terms, classification, items’ addition. Moreover there is a brief analysis about the tools that were us ed and the methodology followed as well as alphabetical indexes of the edited items by title, author and subject headings and a complete record list (ascending, by record number) in Marc21 format.
